Homecoming is a three-panel series depicting a family permanently divided by the residential school system. The children and parents exist across separate paintings and are never reunited within the work. Birds move between the panels as messengers—guiding the children and carrying word of them back to broken parents.
Thick layers of paint, varnish and shellac add texture to this piece.
